Artist Statement: The way I like to describe creating a photograph is to capture a treasure of nature. This is where my heart belongs, in the still of the water, the breeze in the trees, and the sun through my eyes held forever an image. I love the natural earth and my objective is for people to see this while observing my photography.

Bio: I've had a fascination and eye for art and photography since I was young. I started by using oil pastels for my own projects outside of school, learning from art material received as gifts or earned from allowance. I was first introduced to photography when my father let me borrow his 35mm Yashica camera to bring on school field trips such as to the Auriesville Shrine in Amsterdam, NY, which is heavily surrounded with picturesque views. That's when it began and took off from there. I graduated from Sage College of Albany with an Associates in Fine Art/Photography that required completion of several art and photography courses so I learned a great deal about various kinds of media and film. My obsession only grew with passion in this field upon doing so. Then I relocated to the Adirondacks from the Albany region to pursue my B.A. through SUNY Empire State while working, volunteering, and participating in numerous art fairs, shows, and small galleries. I love using just natural light without manipulating an image and my essential focus is nature and mountain scenes, although I hold interest in other areas including abandoned buildings and night photography. And, I have a special heart for infrared film since my college days and may venture on to do a solo show in this medium in the near future. Please enjoy viewing my work. I try to captivate the entire spiritual and raw element of nature in each and every photograph I produce.

Artist Statement: Meditation and mindfulness seem overused – catching a breath and taking in the surroundings seem outdated. But my work is all of that; getting lost in the trees. A connection back beyond the constant stress and struggle. Nature doesn’t hurry, nature doesn’t care about what we do - it’ll wait us out and rebound. It has before and will again. That’s the feeling painting gives me – a place beyond – a place we can all go. It’s waiting just off the trail. Like it always has been and hopefully always will be.

Bio: There is healing in nature. Walking out among the trees and streams. A connection that feeds the soul. Can you paint that? I’m answering that question with each canvas. I started taking oil painting classes with Joan Reid at the Glens Falls Shirt Factory in 2018. My focus is landscapes – inspired by Turner and Thomas Cole with a strong sprinkling of happy Bob Ross attitude; I want to create scenes that make you feel like you are there. I’ve dabbled with visual art my entire life. Stops and starts but this is the first time I’m becoming an actual artist. It’s a journey that I am thrilled to be taking. Based in South Glens Falls, N.Y – close to the Adirondacks. Surrounded by all kinds of natural wonders - I’m very fortunate to live in a great area with countless vistas still to find.
