Professor Louie & the Crowmatix is “Roots Music Royalty” playing the fabric of American Music Roots Music at it’s best! Grammy Nominated, Professor Louie & The Crowmatix from The Hudson Valley consistently tour performing at numerous Festivals, Theaters, Clubs and Art Centers averaging 150 performances a year. Their shows present a diverse set list with songs from their 16 studio CD’s, The Band, Bob Dylan, and blues songs. They have been inducted into The New York State Blues Hall of Fame, hold a permanent place in The Canada South Blues Museum and are recipients of the Robert H. Chambers Award for Excellence in the Traditional Arts from Common Ground on the Hill, Maryland.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix performs select songs Louie learned directly from The Band and material he helped create with them as co-producer, collaborator with them for over fifteen years including their comeback hits Atlantic City & Blind Willie McTell.

Professor Louie & The Crowmatix band members include:

Professor Louie (keyboards-accordionist- vocals), Woodstock NY - has emerged as one of the torchbearer’s of the true spirit of American Roots music. Seasoned live performer, prolific recording artist and versatile multi-instrumentalist, Award winning Producer & Engineer captured on tape the talents of some of the worlds most highly acclaimed musicians, most notably The Band. Professor. Louie co-produced Atlantic City for The Band on their CD. Selected Awards:

  • Inducted into the South Canadian Blues Hall of Fame

  • Recipient Robert H. Chambers Award for Excellence in the Traditional Arts from Common Ground on the Hill MD.

  • Inducted into The Blues Hall of Fame (NY Chapter)

Miss Marie (vocals - percussionist - keys) - Her powerful soulful vocals are standouts in live performance and on the Professor Louie & The Crowmatix recordings. Marie has written and published over 100 songs including her song Melody Of Peace featured on CBS6 Television Holiday Special. Marie has performed and recorded with The Band, Levon Helm, Rick Danko, Garth Hudson and The Commander, Cody Band and was an integral part of Mercury Rev’s Gold Album Deserters Song.

Frank Campbell (bass - vocals), originally from NYC, Frank was Levon Helm’s Music Director with The Woodstock All-Stars, performed and recorded with The Band and many international artists including Steve Forbert. His rockin’ soulful driving bass grooves brings all songs to new heights.

Dan Hickey (drums), currently lives in Woodstock NY, is an in-demand drummer for live performances and in the studio. Has been the drummer for Joe Jackson, They Might As Well Be Giants. He has also played for Joe Cocker, The B-52’s and Cyndi Lauper. Dan is a driving force for Professor Louie & The Crowmatix for over a year.

Todd Mihan (guitar - vocals) is an accomplished and exciting guitarist from the Hudson Valley, New York for over thirty years. Todd has been a great addition to Professor Louie & The Crowmatix. Todd has shared the stage with Motley Crue, Blackberry Smoke & Blue Oyster Cult. His Morning Jams have been waking up fans every week from around the world for over six years.
