The Art of Illustration exhibit features original painted illustrations from children’s books created by local artists Kate Hartley, Jan Palmer and Anthony Richichi, as well as Jan Palmer’s new Witches Dance portraits!  We’ll be exhibiting original illustrations (as well as sketches, books and materials in the glass cases) from Kate Hartley, Jan Palmer and Anthony Richichi.  The artists will have books, prints and more for sale on their opening night, and plan to do readings/signings throughout the exhibit.

Kate Hartley is known for her still life watercolors (pears!) and the North Creek Mosaic Project. She’ll be exhibiting illustrations from the books Good Morning Loon and Hiking to the Top depicting Adirondack scenes that you may recognize! Both books are also available at H’ART Studio & Gallery.

Jan Palmer worked as a children’s book illustrator for over 35 years, for major publishers. She became known for her depictions of Raggedy Ann and Andy, Thumbelina, and more adventurous characters. Her original illustrations would be amazing gifts for the young ones in your life!

Anthony Richichi will be exhibiting originals from his book Colorworld: The Adirondack Adventure, about a little boy whose drawings come to life. He’s illustrated books that won nine national book awards. Lately, you may have seen him painting a mural at Muralgarten, at the Shirt Factory in Glens Falls.
